From Trash (literally) to Treasure!

Living in an old house means that storage is minimal so there is always a need for other means of storage.

My husband was walking the dog one day and found this dresser along the curb. I came racing home from work with the SUV and hauled it home. I painted it and turned it into a fun piece of furniture.

I sanded smooth the many layers of paint.

I painted it blue and decided to stencil the two sides of the dresser. I found these stencils at Cutting Edge Stencils

The stencil was easy to use and I was able to do it in a few hours.

The pattern turned out nicely. It adds subtle detail without being overpowering. I added red knobs from Hobby Lobby for $2.50 each.

We decided to put it in the office. Not bad for about $40 dollars in supplies. You can do a lot with a little imagination!

Note: the walls still need to be painted and the baseboard is missing…that will be a future project.  🙂
